Countless people talk of the collapse of the US empire, but the decline seems glacially slow despite blunders, morally reprehensible acts of bolstering genocidal regimes and economic sanctions which attempt to bring sovereign countries to their knees. The US record in South America is nothing short of appalling and 'regime change' a US mantra for undermining an elected foreign government (violently or otherwise, but usually violently) to bring such country to heel, dependent on the US for 'salvation'. While ending US hegemony is an obvious and welcomed outcome, achieving that outcome by attrition is both slow and inefficient. I can only hope that the Belt and Road Initiative, amongst other measures, can bring the scales back into balance, but there is a long way to go...
