I am less pessimistic than you about this & the "truth to power" dynamic. Here in Australia we are holding an inquiry into an infamous government scheme of allegedly clawing back social service payments via an automated system called "Robodebt". Former gov ministers and high-ranking officials have been grilled over weeks & the terrible answers are mind-blowing and scandalous. We still don't know the fallout, but many formerly important people have been shamed and for some, their penalties are yet to be had. Of course some will escape with their lives almost intact (I only know of 1 so far, out of the many), but the level of opprobrium is high and the revelations very public. Go Mr Sanders (& we need to know your successor - a young Socialist woman perhaps?)!
