I may not agree with you on a few fronts, but I agree the insurgency will not vanish as long as Israel denies a 2-State solution and Netanyahu has a trial & jail hanging over his head. He remains free as long as the war is prosecuted.
We must all learn from history, even "recent" conflicts like Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, as you have pointed out. The common theme? The inhabitants' freedom from oppression and outside, unwelcome interference in internal affairs. Successive Israeli administrations have oppressed the Palestinians and interfered with Palestinians' land and freedom. Many decades on, this has again exploded into the atrocity which was the October 7 event, atrocities committed, we now find, by both sides.
I fear Netanyahu is right - this ungodly, obscene maelstrom will persist into 2025 or worse unless a peace and proper agreements are sought and to which Israel will adhere. For now, the Palestinians have no voice or choice but to fight, merely to survive.
