Love the analysis and I hope you're right. Here in Australia, it amazes and appals me that coloured people like me (Chinese) can vote for a conservative candidate whose mantra (overt or not) is of racism, superiority and condescension to coloured people (not just Chinese). Let's hope your bros and sistas will see the light and vote for the person who may have an understanding of the further problems faced if one is coloured!
Australia has a long way to go in that space, even if we sort-of acknowledge Australia is a reasonably good multicultural society not prone to race riots! We still have deep divisions as does the USA, but (wait for it...) we don't have guns!!
Anyway, bridging the gap between races is an ongoing labour and burden, which we all should undertake when we can.
