That which I fear is that even the worst of apocryphal SF works don't come close to the evil being inflicted on humankind by greedy technocrats (read: tech bros), whose avarice and lust for power is endless at the expense of humanity. The world is reduced to 1's & 0's, with people as integers and commodities for the "upper echelons" to manipulate and exploit at will. Unless it's for vast profit, it's useless.

The next 4 years in the US will witness a social decline from which it will take generations to recover. In the meantime, the world will suffer.
