Unless and until the USA learns humility and global cooperation, the citizenry will continue to suffer the deep divides being experienced now. Because of alleged "exceptionalism", the US feels it has the right (regardless of Dem or Republican) to police the rest of the world and mould the world in USA's image. There is no admission of others' right to have a government system different to the USA's or indeed the suitability of USA's putative democracy for the rest of the planet. No US administration brooks difference or argument without a large helping of superiority complex.

While not all about the US is bad, there's a whole lot which is dreadful and comes down to attitude.
